I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
